NEW DAIRY PRINCESS CROWNED Jolene Simas of Hanford Selected as District 7 Dairy Princess
TRACY, Calif. – July 2, 2018 – Jolene Simas of Hanford was selected as the 2018 Dairy
Princess for the California Milk Advisory Board’s (CMAB) District 7. Kiera Searcy of Hanford
was selected as the 2018 Alternate Dairy Princess. The coronation took place before a crowd of
approximately 300 dairy industry members, their families and friends, on Friday, June 29, 2018,
at the Hanford Civic Auditorium in Hanford.
Retiring Dairy Princess Tristan Rowell ended her reign by relinquishing her title to Jolene and
wished her well as she will represent the California dairy industry throughout the coming year.
Jolene will represent District 7, which consists of Kings County. As Dairy Princess, she will play
an important role on the CMAB’s Communications Services team in meeting community
relations objectives.
Jolene is the daughter of Rick and Jennifer Simas of Hanford. She is a recent graduate of
Lemoore High School and plans to attend West Hills College in Lemoore in the fall, majoring in
agricultural business. Jolene was a member of the Lemoore FFA and the dairy judging team. She
raised a replacement heifer for the 2018 Kings County Fair. Jolene, a member of the Kings
County Junior Fair Board, has also served as a District 7 Milk Maid and First Alternate Dairy
Princess.
