Planning is Underway for a California 2019 Pizza Contest

T HE R EAL C ALIFORNIA P IZZA C ONTEST P ROGRAM O VERVIEW

Goals o

Increase demand for California cheese in the foodservice sector o Assure robust contest participation from foodservice operators, especially from the pizza restaurant segment o Reinforce awareness of California as the top pizza cheese supplier in the US, while also celebrating the creative diversity of specialty, craft and artisan cheeses made by California cheese makers o Expand understanding/appreciation of CMAB’s brand equity with foodservice operators

Target foodservice audiences o Professional pizzaiolo’s o Professional chefs o

Culinary students from an accredited culinary school (secondary)

Contest Structure o

Scale: This will be a national contest

Contest Categories ▪

o

Three or more cheeses

Hispanic

▪ Chefs’ interpretation of the “Real California” pizza ▪ Contestants can enter all three categories if they wish ▪ Entries for each category must be submitted separately – even with the same recipe going to two or all three categories
