Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library: Our Friends group continued their long tradition of fundraising, volunteerism, and advocacy for the library. In FY2024, the Friends’ officers were President Noreen Williams, Vice President Annemarie Salzberg, Secretary Nancy Thomas, and Treasurer Diantha Grant. The Friends maintain the library’s gardens, supply refreshments, and assist with programs. The Friends hosted two major book and bake sales in September and June at the community building. They also held smaller pop-up book sales throughout the year. The Friends sponsored a fall bulb fundraiser in October, and in June, hosted a silent auction and book/bake sale to help raise funds for programming. In August, the Friends helped sponsor a Lego backpack program so children could read and create with Lego blocks at home. During Friends of the library week in October we celebrated them with a gathering and refreshments. Funds donated by the Friends support programs, specialty items, and passes for a variety of community venues. Thank you for your generosity, time, and hard work!
