ANNUAL REPORT New Gloucester Water District

The New Gloucester Water District continues maintenance and operation of the pump station and distribution system with the assistance of Planet Wastewater Services of Richmond, Maine, our contract operator. This past year the District undertook an audit of all water services connected to the water system to determine if any were made of lead pipe. While most of the system is relatively new, there were several user connections made to existing services. The audit found that none of the services within the District are of lead. The system was originally installed in 2013 and we are beginning to see more issues with equipment that needs to be replaced or maintained. We continue to address these needs when they arise and are mindful of the cost in order to keep rates as low as possible. The District continues to provide water meeting or exceeding State requirements. PFAS test results and Consumer Confidence Reports are posted on the Water District section of the Town webpage for review. Our customers can be confident in the high quality and safety of our public water supply. New Gloucester Water District thanks its customers and the Town for their continued support.
