North Central boys basketball team holds the longest winning streak record in the nation for boys high school basketball! Previously, in front of a packed house, the Jets beat nearby rivals, on January 27, 2017, the Bark River-Harris Broncos; to tie the long-standing state of Michigan record of 65 games. That record was set by another upper peninsula small town team from Chassell, MI. They set the record in 1956, 1957, and 1958. A record that has stood the test of times! The Jets currently have 72 straight wins racked up with two regular games to play yet this season. Tournaments begin in March which could possibly see the Jets adding up more wins to their already impressive total!

Up to this point, there had been no public recognition for their achievement so the Athletic Booster club spent many hours researching and notifying former players to make it happen. There will be a plaque placed in the trophy case, which can be updated as necessary.
