Scholarship Awards Dinner

CAMILLA M. BUCHANAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP and WILLIAM GORDON “BUCK” BUCHANAN, JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP are respectively awarded to a senior girl and boy who has maintained scholastic achievement to the best of her or his indicated ability, and renders unselfish service to others, school and community. Recipients this year are Amelia

Above: Mike Poole presented the $500 KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL 12134 SCHOLARSHIP to Nathaniel Moak, 10th. Below: THE VIRGINIA AND ANDREW KRAMER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS were created by the couple’s five children in honor of their parents’ service to RCS. Mrs. Kramer taught 7th grade and served as vice‐principal while Mr. Kramer coached athletic teams and served in many capacities. Recipients of the $500 awards were Grady Whalen, 8th, and Sophie Wright, 8th.

Safford ‘19 (Virginia Commonwealth University) and Spencer Krohmer ‘19 (Hampden‐Sydney College).

The PATRICK THOMAS ROWE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP was awarded to Steven Clark ‘19 (Virginia Tech). Presented by Mr. Rowe's father, Jim Rowe '44, and brother, Tim Rowe '82, the $500 award was established in 1983 in memory of the 1978 RCS graduate, and goes to a graduating senior who: is supportive of school, church, home and community; uses their God‐ given talents to the best of their ability; who tries hard to succeed; and who has RCS spirit.

CY BRUNNER MEMORIAL AWARD is presented to a senior who demonstrates qualities of the former RCS principal: academic achievement, humility, love of God and fellow man, who strives for high ideals and has a spirit of optimism. 2019 recipient: Bryant Guilfoyle ‘19 (Notre Dame).

BURKE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP , presented in honor of Travis Burke, ‘03, and brother Ryan, ‘07, is a $1,000 scholarship that goes to a graduating senior with good citizenship, dedication to RCS, positive attitude and strong work ethic. 2019 recipient: James Carpenter (James Madison University).

LOWER SCHOOL STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP The $200 award was presented to Allison Brundrett, 8th, by RCS teacher

WYNN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP was presented to Steven Claude, 5th. This $3,500 scholarship was awarded by Regina Wynn Williamson '68 in honor

The inaurgural $250 RCS ROSARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP went to Alessandra Paras, 11th.

of her mother, who overcame financial struggles so her children could attend Roanoke Catholic.
