Scholarship Awards Dinner

Jackson Krohmer, 11th, received the 2019 EDWIN L. “BUTCH” HARNACK, III, MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP from Butch’s wife, Lisa Harnack. The scholarship is awarded to a student who exemplifies these qualities: supportive at school, in their home, church and community; humble, trustworthy, kind and a good friend to others.

Xavier Bean, 11th, received the 2019 $1,000 RAYFUS PARHAM HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP from RCS assistant principal Chris Michael. For 21 years, Mr. Parham dedicated himself to the students at RCS as music teacher and band director. Created in his honor upon his retirement in June 2017, this annual scholarship is awarded to a student who exemplifies the qualities and values so evident in the work that Mr. Parham shared with RCS for many years: love of music, persistence, dedication, and humor. The inaugural $500 Carlton and Peggy Russell Saul ‘52 Scholarship , was presented by the Sauls’ nephew, Mike Russell, ‘80, to Makayla Gill, Kindergarten.

The BILL AND BERNICE MURPHY SCHOLAR‐ SHIP went to Meg Corbett, 4th. Presented by the Murphys' son, Neal Murphy, this inaugural $1,000 scholarship goes to a RCS student who attends Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Funded by the RCS Alumni Association, the ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP is presented to a child of an RCS graduate currently attending Roanoke Catholic. Principal Patrick Patterson presented the 2019 award to Jesse Monsour, 10th, son of Andrew Monsour ‘90.
