Pelican Ponderings - Summer 2018

From the Manager s Desk

Hi Everyone,

Summer—Summer—Summer… it’s about time!! So nice to see the sun and feel the warmth. We have had lots happen around the Village over the last few months, least of which was our ‘Open Day’ in October. Such a great response and I want to thank all those residents who helped us throughout the day. We all enjoyed meeting and chatting to prospective new residents and getting to share a great BBQ with everyone. A big thank you to Danny and Milton for looking after the BBQ for us and Anne and some of our ladies residents for taking care of the food & cuppas etc. Couldn’t have done it without your help. I also have to mention how good it’s been to see some of our lady residents get together to make the fantastic Christmas Decorations in our Community Room—a huge thank you to Debi Turner for her inspirations and to Judi Irving for the amazing garlands. All the decorations came together beautifully to make our wonderful Christmas Luncheon such a special event.. I’d also like to thank Milton and the social club for organising, dealing and making sure everything went to plan. Thank you all. We’ve had lots of events, so check out the photo pages. Don’t forget our Christmas Lights competition, the prizes will be drawn on Friday the 21st December in the Community Hall. I will let you know a time via sms or note in your letterboxes. Happy decorating!!.

This will be the last Ponderings before Christmas and New Year—so I’ll take this opportunity to say—From our Families to Yours, we wish all of you a very Merry Christmas & a Happy and Safe New Year.. May Santa visit you, and if nothing else—fill you with Good Cheer..

Till next time Cathy and the Team
