PICU and patient demographics The responding PICUs in the first part of the survey represented approximately 90,000 admissions per year. Fifty-two percent of PICUs were located in North America and Europe. Fourteen percent of PICUs were situated in low- or lower-middle-income countries, and 86% of PICUs were multidisciplinary. All PICU demographics are shown in Table 1.
