The Council appointed a Special Committee to consider the Rules and suggested amend– ments, and to confer with the two repre– sentatives of the profession on the Rules

Ballot for Council. The Ballot for Election of Council will be held on Monday, 22nd November, from eleven to one o'clock, in the Secretary's Office, 45 Kildare Street, Dublin. Voting papers should reach the Secretary not later than one o'clock on the 22nd November. Half-yearly General Meeting. The Half-yearly General Meeting of the Society will be held at two o'clock, p.m., on Friday, 26th November, in the offices of the Society, 45 Kildare Street, Dublin. A letter was read from a member drawing attention to the requirements as to the making of declarations in the Irish Free State, British Colonies and Dependencies for use in the Bank of England. It was decided to endeavour to have the requirements modified in the case of the Irish Free State so as to admit of the declarations being made before Commissioners for Oaths. Circuit Court Rules. Letters were submitted from members making suggestions of various amendments to be made in the Circuit Court Rules, which Rules had been submitted to the Dail in July by the Minister, but withdrawn by him for further consideration by the Rules Committee. Meetings of the Council. 7th October. Twenty-three Members present. Declarations for Bank of England.

Committee. Resignation.

A letter was read from Mr. P. J. Meehan resigning his membership of Council con– sequent on his appointment as County Registrar of Leix. It was ordered that Mr. Harte, being next on the supplemental, be summoned to attend next meeting. 28th October. Twenty-eight Members present. Annual Report. The draft Annual Report of the Council was considered and adopted. High Court Rules. Questions of practice which have arisen under the High Court Rules were discussed, and the President informed the Council of an interview which he had on the subject with the President of the High Court and the Master.

Obituary.

MR. \VILLIAMS, Solicitor, died upon the 8th August, 1926, at his residence, Tournore, Dungarvan. Mr. Williams was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1885, and practised at Dungarvan. JOHN F.
