Annual Subscriptions. Members are reminded that their annual subscription to the Society became due on the first day of May, as follows :

Obituary. MR. EDWARD J. KXIGHT, Solicitor, died upon the 27th March, 1926, at Santa Rosa, California. Mr. Knight served his apprenticeship with his brother, Mr. Michael E. Knight, Clones ; was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1901, and practised at Kells up to 1914, when he went abroad. MR. ROBERT SCHOLEFIELD, Solicitor, died upon the 3rd April, 1926, at Kingstown, Co. Dublin. Mr. Scholefield was admitted in Michael– mas Sittings, 1881, and practised at 31 Molesworth Street, Dublin, in partnership with Mr. Arthur J. Beatty, under the style of Moore, Keily & Lloyd. MR. WILLIAM H. WRIGHT, Solicitor, died upon the 10th April, 1926, at his residence, Mullavilly, Tandragee. Mr. Wright was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1884, and practised at Portadown. MR. JOHN J. LEECH, Solicitor, died upon the 17th April, 1926. Mr. Leech served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Michael J. Farrelly, and the late Mr. Wm. J. Morris, 22 Wellington Quay.. Dublin ; was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1896, and practised at 35 Upper SackvUle Street, Dublin, up to 1904, when he retired. MR. MICHAEL M. KENNY, Solicitor, died upon the 18th April, 1926, at his residence, New Street, Longford. Mr. Kenny served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Cornelius Kenny, Longford; was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1897, and practised at Longford.

Meeting of the Council.

April 15th. Twenty-two Members present. Circuit Court Appeal.

A letter was read from a Country Member drawing attention to the amount of costs a client had been rendered liable to pay as a result of his having instructed notice of appeal to be served against an ejectment decree granted in October, which notice had been withdrawn in January before the appeal was listed ; the costs of the respondent, of the withdrawn appeal, subsequently ordered to be paid by the appellant being taxed to £23. The Council directed a reply that the matter did not appear to call for action on their part. Court of Examiners. A report was submitted on an application for leave to be bound under Section 16. The Council refused the application. The Four Courts. The plans for the building of new premises for the Society at the Four Courts, received from the Board of Works, were considered, and also a letter from the Board in reference to the matter, and the terms of a letter in reply were settled.
