MR. DOLWAY B. WALKINGTON, Solicitor, died upon the 18th April, 1926, at his residence, 128 Eglantine Avenue, Belfast. Mr. Walkington was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1892, and practised at 16 Donegall Square, Belfast. MR. GEORGE COLLINS, Solicitor, died upon the 22nd April, 1926, at his residence, 49 Upper Mount Street, Dublin. Mr. Collins was admitted in Trinity Term, 1875, and practised, as a member of the firm of Casey, Clay & Collins, at 21 St. Andrew Street, Dublin. He was a member of the Council of the Society from 1906 to 1916, and filled the office of Vice-President of the Society during the year 1907-08. MR. CHARLES O'CONNOR, Solicitor, died upon the 28th April, 1926, at his residence, Westgate, Drogheda. Mr. O'Connor was admitted in Easter Sittings, 1883, and practised at Drogheda. Solicitors' Benevolent Association. The Metropolitan Directors of the Solicitors' Benevolent Association presented Mr. F. C. Earle Bland with an address and a silver salver on his retirement from the office of Secretary of the Association, after serving in that capacity for forty years past. The presentation took place on the 7th May, on the invitation of Sir George Roche, Chairman of the Association, at 20 Saint Stephen's Green. The address was read by Dr. Ouirke, President of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland, and the presentation was made by Sir George Roche ; and Mr. Bland returned thanks, and expressed his appreciation of the gift and of the address. Land Registry. RECEIPTS FOR REGISTERED MONEY CHARGES STAMP DUTY CHANGE OF PRACTICE. The Revenue Commissioners have notified the Land Registry that in future receipts in Form 16 under the Land Registry Rules lodged for registration containing the words, " and I assent to the cancellation of the said burden on the register," must bear the

ad valorem reconveyance duty of 6d. per £100 of the total amount or value of the money secured by the registered charge. The Stamp Duty on partial releases of registered charges is 10/-, unless this be greater than the ad valorem duty, in which case the ad valorem duty is accepted. Irish Solicitors' Golfing Society. The annual competition will be held at Dollymount, on Tuesday, 1st day of June. The competition will be by strokes members to play on their lowest handicap. In the afternoon, foursome sweepstakes members to select partners and opponents. The Annual General Meeting will be held in the Club House, Dollymount, at 6.30 p.m., on 1st day of June. Nominations for election of officers should be sent to the Secretary in writing ten days before the day of meeting. Library. The Council acknowledge with thanks the following gift of books presented to the Society's Library : Butterworth's Ten Years' Digest, 1898-1907 (4 Vols.), and Butterworth's Yearly Digest, 1908-1913 (6 Vols.)
