1 LASCELLS MILLISECOND TIMER The Lascells simple timer is a fully functional, easy to use millisecond timer and has a clear, 4 digit LED display. Three sockets provide START and STOP inputs which respond to any change of switch settings i.e. normally closed to open or vice versa making triggering very simple and reliable. A single switch changes the timer from GATE 1 start and stop to GATE 1 start GATE 2 stop. In addition 3.5mm sockets are provided to allow Lascells timer light gates to be connected. The timer has millisecond resolution for times up to 10 seconds and then the display auto-ranges for longer periods up to 9999s with corresponding reduced resolution. Supplied with mains plug-top adaptor and full instructions., A high speed light gate, utilising an infra-red beam, for use with Lascells timers (e.g. TMH-825-100). The attached cable is terminated by a 3.5mm jack plug which fits directly into the Lascells timer, so no other connections are required. In addition, we also offer an optional light gate adapter unit, which accepts the Lascells light gate jack plugs and brings out the four connections to 4mm sockets to facilitate connection in alternative applications. The Lascells Millisecond Triple Mode Timer provides all the facilities required for dynamics timing, and comes housed in a robust aluminium case, supplied with a mains plug-top low-voltage power supply. Three modes of operation are available, activated by START and STOP switch contacts (4mm sockets) or by using Lascells Light Gates which plug in directly. • Mode 1 - uses one light gate or a switch across the START sockets (either normally open or normally closed contacts). Timing starts when the switch is operated, and stops when it is returned to normal e.g. to measure the time a card takes to pass through a light gate. • Mode 2 - uses activation of the START sockets to initiate timing and activation of the STOP sockets to stop the timing. Two light gates could be used in place of switches e.g. to measure how long a trolley takes to descend a ramp. • Mode 3 - uses both the start and stop sockets or two light gates. The time taken to pass through gate 1 is recorded, then the time taken to pass through gate 2 is measured, and finally the time taken to move from gate 1 to gate 2 is measured. All three times are displayed. This could be used to measure the speed at the top and bottom of a ramp, along with the time taken between the two i.e. all the readings required for measuring acceleration. Includes a speaker that can be turned on and off and power supplies for direct connection to light gates or a Geiger-Muller counter. For event counting, a fixed counting period can be programmed in a range from 0.1ms to 99999s. Counter events (e.g. start or stop) can either be triggered by a signal to the input sockets or manually via switches. The unit includes a plug-in power supply.
