Stakeholder Panel on Dietary Supplements (SPDS)

• AOAC INTERNATIONAL signed a 5‐year contract with the  National Institutes of Health‐Office of Dietary  S l (NIH/ODS) bli h l upp ements   to esta s vo untary  consensus standards for high‐priority ingredients.  • Develop 25 standard method performance requirements  (SMPRs) for priority dietary supplement ingredients.

• Encourage participation with the dietary supplements  industry to develop voluntary consensus standards. 

Performance Work Statement

To meet the NIH/ODS overall objective AOAC will:

• Identify and prioritize 25 dietary supplement  ingredients for which analytical methods are needed • Develop standard method performance  requirements (SMPRs) for 25 dietary supplement  ingredients.  • The SMPR is integrated into the AOAC Official  Methods SM process, in which expert review panels  (ERP) adopt methods that meet SMPRs
