Base Year 1

In the base year, AOAC proposes: 

• Advisory Panel Meeting to identify and prioritize 25 dietary  supplement ingredients for which systematically reviewed analytical  methods are needed; • 2 Stakeholder Panel Meetings and 7 ingredient working groups to develop standard method performance requirements (SMPRs) for the  top 7 ingredients; • Provide technical guidance and assistance on protocol development  for single and  multi‐laboratory validation as needed, through the  h d AOAC Researc Institute; an • Publish SMPRs in the  Journal of the AOAC INTERNATIONAL and the  Official Methods of Analysis SM .  AOAC will provide technical guidance  and assistance in the preparation of manuscripts to avoid delays in  publication.

• Inaugural SPDS Meeting, chaired by Darryl Sullivan, held  March 2014

– Lauched first 3 ingredients:

• Chondroitin, Jana Hildreth ‐ Chair • Anthocyanins, Dana Kruegar ‐ Chair • PDE5 Inhibitors, Kate Mastovska – Chair

– Working groups to develop SMPRs for recommendation for approval  AOAC AM 2014 at  .

– All working groups are open for volunteers.
