Stepping Stones Montessori School

Oranjezicht, Cape Town, Western Cape

Founded in 1983, Stepping Stones Montessori School is located on the slopes of Table Mountain in Oranjezicht, Cape Town. The school caters for toddlers, pre-primary and primary school children up to twelve years of age. The school started on its eco-journey in 2014, achieving Bronze status that year, followed by Silver status in 2015. I arrived in 2016, the year the school achieved Green Flag status. It has been a privilege to watch the school gain strength each year.

Most of the elementary children who have been with us since they were toddlers, are now eco-warriors in their own right! The children attend climate change marches and avidly study plants, animals and natural science in our outdoor environment. “ ”
