Allied Wire and Cable expands the team

Pattern Energy has partnered with Samsung Renewable Energy to acquire the 180MW Armow wind energy project in Ontario, Canada, from Spanish energy company Acciona. Located in the township of Kincardine, the wind farm will utilize turbine components produced by Siemens in Ontario. Construction of the facility is expected to begin in 2013 and the project will commence operation in 2014. The electricity generated by the Armow wind farm is to be purchased by the Ontario Power Authority. The wind farm will produce enough clean energy to power nearly 50,000 local homes annually and will avoid more than 675,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. Samsung C&T Corporation senior executive vice-president Cheol-Woo Lee said as part of Samsung’s commitment to Ontario under the Green Energy Investment Agreement, the company and its partners are establishing four manufacturing plants in the province and developing up to 2,500MW of renewable energy projects.

Allied Wire and Cable has hired new account representatives at three of its locations across the US. Paul Lawruk is the newest account representative at Allied’s headquarters in Pennsylvania. Lawruk began his career in the wire and cable industry at Omni Cable, where he worked as an account manager. Allied’s newest location, Las Vegas, welcomes Kristy Ventura. Ventura has a highly industrial background with previous positions at Anacapa Micro Products, R&B Welding, and Grainger. Ryan Baldinelli is a recent addition to Allied’s New England branch, and to the wire and cable industry. He is a 2011 graduate of Castleton State College in Vermont, where he studied business and marketing. Although a rookie, he’s very enthusiastic about his new position, saying he “looks to make [his] footprint on the industry soon enough.” The Allied Wire & Cable family is happy to have Lawruk, Ventura, and Baldinelli, and looks forward to growing with them.
