“Expressing Our True Inner Self Through Painting” Learn the fundamentals of playing traditional band instruments. Lessons will include a group instrument lesson, learning to read music, all aspects of playing the instrument of choice, and instrument maintenance.

A therapeutic approach to emotional and mental release. Art therapy is the use of the creative arts to ex- press and reflect on emotional states and is a therapeu- tic technique rooted in the idea that creative expression can foster healing and mental well-being.

Tae Kwon Do

2 six week class options: Mondays, September 16 - October 21 Mondays, October 28 - December 2 Beginner class 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Intermediate/Advanced class 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Ages: 4 - Adults Instructor: Kasey Addair Cost: $100.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee

Students will learn self-defense and Tae Kwon Do. The classes will also offer physical fighting skills and cardio exercise.

Everything you Wanted to Know About Starting a Business, but Were Afraid to Ask This beginner yoga class introduces the history of yoga, fundamental principles of alignment, yoga poses, breathing, and meditation. Thursdays, September 26 – November 14 4 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. Ages 16 - Adults Instructor – Melanie Hosier, RYT Cost: $80.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee Hatha Yoga for Beginners Tuesdays, September 24 - October 15 (4 classes) Times: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Ages: 13 - Adults Instructor: Crystal Kieloch Cost: $75.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee This course will teach participants about the various types of creative writing from fiction, to poetry, to nonfiction. Any skill level from beginner to avid writer is welcome. Creative Writing for Anyone Mondays, September 23 - November 11 (8 weeks) 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Ages 14 - Adults Instructor: Norma Acord Cost: $125.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee and an $18.00 materials fee Learn the basic methods of centering clay, forming cylinders and bowls, adding handles, and finishing pots using decorating and glazing techniques. There will be an $18 supplies fee, collected the first night of class.

Airbnb Workshop

Learn how to generate income from a cabin, apartment, or other property. David Hite, local Airbnb Superhost, will review Airbnb and how it works. Learn how to set up an account and prop- erty, set your home up for guests, manage reserva- tions, and build a large following of repeat visitors.

Watercolor Nature Journaling

Saturday, October 26 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Ages: 12 - Adults Instructor: Kirsten Sadler Cost: $65.00

This workshop will allow you to connect with nature and develop skills to quickly and accurately record nature observations through sketching, painting, and writing. Students will learn to mix a full range of nuanced color with just eight pigments, and will be given hands-on materials that will build confidence in exploring nature.

Holiday Hospitality Tea and Make & Take Workshop Saturday, November 16 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Ages 4 and up (children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult) Instructor: Joleen Smith Cost: Adults - $18.00 and Children - $14.00 Includes supplies and refreshments. Enjoy light tea party fare while learning creative decorating and gift ideas. Holiday etiquette tips will be shared that will be useful as a host or a guest. Students will be creating their own festive flower arrangement to take home. Children are welcome and there will be something geared specifically for them. Learn the oldest form of Appalachian art from a 3rd generation basket weaver. Introduction Basket Weaving Thursday, November 7 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Open to all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult Instructor: Barbara Sadler Cost: $65.00 Learn the oldest form of Appalachian art from a 3rd generation basket weaver. Participants will make an 11½” X 11” classy basket artisan tote. Woven Candy Cane Workshop

Private Writing Lessons Instructor: Crystal Kieloch $65.00 for 3 lessons, $100 for 5 lessons, and $175 for 10 lessons plus a $25 registration fee. Private Reading Tutoring Instructor: Beth Kinser $45.00 for three lessons, $75.00 for five lessons, and $120.00 for ten lessons plus a $25.00 registration fee. Students will receive personalized instruction to help improve reading levels.
