Anderson is a 1986 graduate of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. In 1988, after practicing for two years as an Assistant Public Defender in Winnebago County, Rockford, Illinois, Ms. Anderson joined the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplin- ary Commission as counsel and currently holds the position of Director of Probation and Lawyer Deferral Services and Senior Litigation Counsel.
PRACTICE AREA UPDATES
In April of last year, the Illinois Supreme Court amended Supreme Court Rule 794(d) to require lawyers to complete one hour of mental health and substance abuse education as part of their required continuing legal education. In order to assist practitioners in completing this new continuing education requirement, a free, one-hour online CLE on attorney wellbe- ing will be available to all practitioners on the ARDC website later this year. Achieving Equality forWomen Attorneys in the Courtroom and in ADR" and "The Participation of Women Lawyers as Lead Counsel and Trial Counsel in Litigation." After a discussion of the studies, panelists will discuss best practices to increase the number of women attorneys in the courtroom. Various points of view on the subject, including those of in-house counsel, managing partners and judges, will be examined. Attendees will receive 3.75 IL PR-MCLE Credit (subject to approval).
