MERITSOFBUNDLESYSTEMS

MERITS OF BUNDLE SYSTEMS

ƒ Land-based fabrication ƒ Fully pre-commissioned prior to installation ƒ All flowlines and umbilicals within one confined corridor and protected within carrier pipe ƒ Composite structure ƒ Contains expansion and prevents upheaval buckling ƒ Trenching not always required (needed USA) ƒ Product temperature can be controlled during production cycle ƒ Flexibility in installation schedule This is ideal for exotic steels It can incorporate advanced insulation systems It allows liner insertion Fully pre-commissioned prior to installation, bundles can save a great deal of offshore time. Flowlines and umbilicals are all within one corridor: This saves congestion of seabed, particularly when multiple developments are involved; Carrier protection can save rock dump and mattressing. The composite structure prevents any tendency for upheaval buckling of high temperature flowlines. No trenching may be required, which allows cost savings, particularly in difficult soil conditions. Temperature control within the bundle allows active heating systems to prevent hydrate formation. Flexibility of installation means that it is not dependent upon the availability of a particular vessel. Land-based fabrication:
