Bundles and towed installation

Bundles and towed installation

LIMITATIONS OF BUNDLES

ƒ Flowline lengths rather than export lines ƒ Nitrogen in carrier limits depth ƒ Need wet or flat-pack bundles for deeper water ƒ Difficult to inspect flowlines ƒ Bundle failure may require complete replacement of all lines ƒ Needs suitable fabrication site with sheltered bay for trimming close to field

However, there are a number of limitations as well. Bundles are limited to the length of the bundle site with two or three strings connected together. Traditional bundles need to be adapted for greater water depths. Once installed, it is difficult to inspect the hidden surfaces of the inside of the carrier and outside of the flowlines. If a bundle is damaged, it generally needs to be completely replaced. There are only a limited number of suitable sites available close to production areas.
