Ricky Recorder December 2017
The Ricky Recorder
Issue 47: December 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,
Hertfordshire secondary schools for the third year in a row
It is with great pleasure I introduce our Christmas 2017 edition of the Ricky Recorder … and I think it is fair to say that Christmas has come early to us at Ricky School.
• The demolition and of the caretakers’ house and the old gym block is underway, in preparation for our new build featuring a new Reception, Sixth Form accommodation, English rooms, Film Studies suite with Cinema and a new Theatre and Drama studio.
Farewell to the old gym, December 2017 and welcome to the new block (below) opening August 2018
Here are some of this term’s highlights.
• Best Key Stage 4 GCSE results. On average students come out with a grade higher in each GCSE compared to students’ nationally of the same ability • Ofsted inspection praises the School’s progress and the Lead Inspector acknowledges the positive impact Rickmansworth School is having on enhancing the life chances of young people
As always it was a pleasure to herald Christmas in with our Year 7 Christmas Concert at All Saints Church. Thank you to everyone for their support this year. This year's winner of the Year 7 Christmas card competition was Erin William, 7Bu1 – congratulations to her, and her winning design featured above. I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a happy new year; I wish you all the very best for 2018.
