Interpipe director speaks at Eastern Europe forum Oleg Kuzmin, the director for corporate affairs at steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe, Ukraine, took part as a speaker at the IX International Conference: The Baltic PR Weekend, held 10-11 September in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In the framework of the round table ‘Building an Employer’s Reputation during the Recession: Effective PR Practices’, Mr Kuzmin presented a report entitled ‘Employer’s brand 2008 vs 2009. Natural selection’. In the report, Mr Kuzmin discussed the practical examples of effective communications with employees during the recession, highlighting major company projects within the context of the employer’s brand and talked about the programmes aimed at making Interpipe an employer of choice. Mr Kuzmin stated, “Even at a time when companies’ workforces have changed in size, there is a lack of skilled employees and companies continue to battle over new talent. Today, as before, we have to focus attention on the issues of interaction with employees making the company brand recognised as an employer of choice”. Languages added to orbital welding system Swagelok Company, USA, a developer and provider of fluid system solutions, has announced the expansion of the language capabilities of its Swagelok welding system M200 power supply. Offering ease of use, portability, and 200 amp capability, while weighing less than 50lb (23kg), the M200 features built-in multi-language capability. Russian and Swedish have been added to the power supply’s original languages, English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified and traditional). A high-resolution, 12.1" (307mm) colour industrial touch screen provides a simple, intuitive method to enter weld programs. Users can choose from one of three forms to enter programs, including automatic weld schedule programming. The M200’s automatic shield gas control (patent pending) simplifies set-up of shielding gas, requiring no use of a separate flowmeter.
