Broadening Our Horizons

Throu8h the 8eneral education requirements, U8D is able lo offer its students a balanced and diverse education. Theolo8ical and Qeli8ious 8ludies Department presents students with the opportunity lo learn about Christianity, Judaism and Native American reli8ions, amo~ others. These courses offer further exploration in one's own belief as well as exposure lo other belief systems. The Philosophy Department also exposes students lo some of the different view points of the world This area of study provides students with different ways of lhinki~. U8D offers courses in lo8ic, philosophy and literature, and various ethics cour es such as b iomedical ethics and mass media ethics. Philosophy professors believe in educatin8 students lo understand the world in all it.s dimensions. The f ine i\rts Department 8ives students a chance lo express their creative energy lhrou8h different outlets, includin8 art, music, and theater. The theater faculty i currently stru88lin8 lo better 8hiley Theatre lo create a more workable leachin8 space for theater students and product.ions.
