Our main re ponsibility as senators at U8D is to represent the views of t he freshman class. 8ome issues addressed this year included Dinin8 &rvices, allowin8 students to use as many meals as they choose durin8 a meal period; lfealth Center, improvin8 and expanclin8 the services available; and environmental issues, makin8 our recyclin8 pro8ram more effective. We listened to every problempresented to us; nothin8 was too bi8 or too small. f...s senators, we are also responsible for plannin8 events and activitiu1i for the freshman class. 8ome fa ll events included a November "Generation Jam" in Aromas, with everyone dressed to dance to music from the past four decades, and a December trip for fift.y freshmen to "The Price is Qi8ht." Both of us enjoyed our position , despite the enormous time commitment, and look forward to ·continuin8 our service to the student population.

A Associated 8tudents 8ophomore & nators, our main purpose wa to represent the voice of the sophomore class. Every week we attended 8tudent Issues Board, Pro8ramBoard, &nate, and Bud(3et Committee to ensure that the needs, wants and concerns of our class were addressed. We also pro8rammed events to promote enthusiasmand unity amon8 the sophomore class. 8ome of these pro8rams for the 1996-97 school year included the fo llowin(3: "Qe88ae f est" in the Vistas, "Generation Jam" in f...romas, study breaks in Aromas durin8 finals, a beach day, and more! As we look back, its hard to believe that another year is over, but as we look ahead, we know that few experiences will be as j oyful and honorable as representin8 the finest class to ever come to U8D...the Class of 1999!
