JULY 2015 BEACON

AMessage From Chaplain Art Brooks…

As I sit down to write the article for the July Beacon it comes to mind that for the last several months I have not listed anyone in my article who has been ill or who has passed away. I can only hope that this means our membership is in good health. Please remember that if anyone would to make the membership aware of an illness or death in their family please let me know so I can send the proper “fan out” to the membership for you. The month of July is a very patriotic one and, in view of all of the turmoil our nation is facing today, the following poem, written by Helen Steiner Rice, may give confidence to a country that is trying to understand many of the events over the past months. The poem goes as follows –

God bless America and keep us safe and free- Safe from all our enemies, wherever they may be… And teach us to walk humbly and closer in Thy ways,

And give us faith and courage and put purpose in our days, And make each one of us aware that each must do his part, For in the individual is where peace must have its start- For a better world to live in where all are safe and free Must start with faith and hope and love Deep in the heart of me.
