NOBEL LAUREATE Rigoberta Menchu was on campus in late November talking about the issues Guatemala faces in both peacemaking and peace- keeping. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992 for her work on behalf of the rights of indigenous people worldwide. “She really enjoyed her time at USD,” says Kira Espiritu of USD’s International Center. “She sees a lot of real connections and ways for the university and her founda- tion to collaborate in Guatemala.”
