DBD DOWNTOWNBUSINESSDISTRICT Downtown Shakopee is the community’s historic core and has a unique identity from the city’s other commercial centers. This is the most traditionally “urban” development pattern in Shakopee, with vertically integrated uses in attached buildings and a close sidewalk orientation. Preservation and revitalization of historic structures is a key objective. Targeted redevelopment of underutilized, non- historic sites should be sensitive to the historic form and scale of the downtown.
