SEAMING INSTRUCTIONS

SEAMING OPERATION Set the electric seamer on the seam with the locking arm up and to the open side of the seam. The rear wheels should be at the edge of the panel. Check to see that the last roll of the seamer is on the finished portion of the seam and the other rolls are on the crimped portion of the seam. Push the locking arm down to engage the rolls, the locking arm should engage with moderate effort. If excessive effort is required the seamer wheels are not in the proper location. Seamer rollers may need to be cleaned of mastic, dirt, metal shavings or other foreign materials. It is the responsibility of the contractor to ensure the rollers are clean. Stop seamer about one foot from ridge or eave depending on seaming direction. Disengage locking arms and remove the electric seamer. Finish seam with hand seaming tool. Finish seam with hand tool by first crimping the remaining portion of female lip. Then, using the second stage of the hand tool, fold and finish the seam. Repeat this procedure for all roof panels.
