• City staff should choose to either have a desktop computer or a laptop, not both devices. If staff needs the ability to take their computer away from the office a laptop can be leased with a dock, monitor, keyboard and mouse to be used in the office as a desktop computer.

EXCEPTIONS

• If there is a business need for a City staff member to have more than one device connected with cellular service an exception form, found on Citynet, will have to be completed and submitted to the IT department for consideration.

COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT

• Any employee who is found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, as determined by the City Manager ’s office.

• The City of Greensboro Information Technology Department will conduct an annual audit of all City- owned cellular devices and report findings to the City Manager’s Office and Department Heads regarding adherence to this policy.
