Citizenship If you wish to apply for Australian citizenship, please contact the Department of Home Affairs on 13 18 81. Citizenship application forms are also available in the City’s libraries. Once the Department of Home Affairs approves an application the City is notified and will invite all approved applicants to attend a Citizenship ceremony. The waiting period for a citizenship ceremony is approximately two to four months after you have received your approval letter from the Department of Home Affairs.
