Remember – Items disposed in your red lid general waste bin go directly to landfill. Separate as many recyclables as possible and place them into your yellow lid recycling bin. Recycling bin (yellow lid) – fortnightly collection Use me for: 3 3 Steel and aluminium cans (clean and empty) 3 3 Plastic milk containers and plastic bottles (clean, empty with lids off) 3 3 Flattened cardboard and paper (excluding shredded) 3 3 Glass (clean and empty) 3 3 Newspapers and magazines 3 3 Milk and juice cartons (not silver lined) Remember – Place items loosely in the recycling bin free of plastic bags as they cannot be recycled. • Don’t use bin liners • Check for a recycling symbol • Remove lids from all jars, bottles and containers • Rinse all jars, bottles and containers. Dishwasher water is acceptable • Flatten cardboard • Squash cans and plastics.
