FreightVine August 2015

building a reliable flatbed business for us as well. He is a die-hard fan of the Red Sox, Cowboys and Spurs; and if you want to know what real Texas barbecue tastes like, he is your man. Randolph Castro: RD has been with us for 10 years now. He was hired as a Broker and promoted to Operations Manager last year. We have almost lost him a few times when he gets to thinking he is part of Nitro Circus. He forgets that he is not 18 anymore and that mountain biking is not very forgiving. And continuing on the adventurous theme, RD and his wonderful wife decided to start all over and have another child at 40 years old, talk about crazy! When he is not wrecking his bike on some mountain trail, RD loves to fish. One day he might actually catch one! Charlie Cetina: Charlie is only 3 months away from being our next broker to hit the 10-year milestone. He has handled his fair share of loads for Coke over the years and does a great job of covering the Southeast for us. Charlie is a great family man and our resident long distance runner. He stays in shape by running 5k’s; and with a 3 yr. old daughter at the age of 49 he better stay in shape! Ozzy Montoya: Ozzy was hired 8.5 years ago and since then he has moved his fair share of loads. There have been plenty of months where Ozzy has moved over 300 loads all by his lonesome. He is also our resident scholar at the ripe young age of 44. He will graduate in December with his bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Night school for the last 2 years while raising a family is a big commitment but worth it and we are proud of him. AJ Lopez: AJ came on board a little over 8 years ago as a Broker after having worked for HEB the previous 22 years. He is as detailed as they come and does an excellent job of handling our highest maintenance account, B&G. In his other life, AJ is one of the top High School football umpires in Texas. Fun fact on that: AJ has been officiating football games since 1984 and actually officiated a game I was playing in my senior year of high school. Rose Trevino: Rose is our “youngest” employee at 5 years this August. She was hired to work in Accounting, which she did until last year when she was promoted to Broker’s Assistant. She now works with AJ on the B&G account. Rose loves to travel and spend as much time as possible with her husband Matthew. Troy Magers: As for me, I have been with ALC for almost 16 years now, not bad considering Eddie once told me I wouldn’t make it past the 1 st year! I spend my time and money chasing after 3 kids and the various sports they play.
