FreightVine August 2015

Editor’s Note: As the days of summer go quickly by and Labor Day gets closer, the August issue of the FreightVine is ready for you to view.

Thank you to the ALC Logistics, Grand Rapids, Kansas City and San Antonio offices, and Finance for writing the articles and to everyone that shared pictures. Enjoy the remaining days of summer! Did You Know . . . Even though Labor Day originated in Canada in 1872, the first Labor Day celebration in the United States was in New York City's Union Square on Sept. 5, 1882. It was planned by the Central Labor Union to appease city workers after numerous strikes and violence that occurred over the 12 hour work day. Labor Day has been celebrated on the first Monday of September every year since President Grover Cleveland declared that day Labor Day in 1894.
