Translation, Commentary Surih of Kawthar

far more precious in My estimation than the crimson-coloured Elixir. This notwithstanding that I have refrained in some places, on account of the gaze of the foes, from explicit affirmation of the ocean of utmost tranquillity, and have enshrouded My words in the dark depths of the air, for those who are unable to witness the Countenance of the Attributes within those hard, thick, blind, intense, dusty and deep darkness, that no wicked one may discover the true secrets of the Family of God, the blessings of God rest upon Them, and may not spread disorder in earth, without the leave of the righteous. However, in spite of that, I did not withhold thee from My grace, and committed Myself to disclose that which thou hast asked in thy call. Should anyone recognise a single letter of This Book, and act according to it, solely for the sake of God and wholly devoted unto Him alone, he would assuredly be of more profit unto thee than all things. For verily, thy request for this commentary hath unlocked the gate of heaven, to send down this supreme grace upon the people. I then Beseech God to lift this thick cloud of affliction by the shining forth of the sun of fellowship; and to set in order (yuslihu), by the blessing of His Might, that which hath been disordered by the people. For verily, He is the All-Bountiful, the All-Praised. When thou hast recognised these truths, thou must comprehend this riddled symbol, the adorned mystery and the mighty talisman, that true belief in God shall not be attained by anyone except at the time when the light of the Countenance of the Sovereign Source of Revelation is manifested in all his stations, tokens, movements, pauses, glances, allusions, testimonies, evidences and signs. Thus even as his heart is a pure manifestation of the Unity of the Essence, and a speck of Dust amidst the Fire of the Attributes, his body will also be like his heart, a manifestation of divine Unity. Therefore, all the atoms of his body will testify at all times unto the Unity of God and the Manifestations of God, even as the testimony of his tongue. Should he attain unto such station, his body would manifest, even as his heart, naught but utter revelations, pure manifestations, evidences of the Essence and expressions of the Attributes. Thus would he become the image of the Transcendent World, the Universal Light, the Heavenly Mystery, the Bright Symbol (Ramz-i-jalí), the Divine Sign and the Universal Tree. These are the grades of the manifestation of divine Action in the realm of receptivity. Blessed, doubly blessed, is the one who hath attained such a station! “I am that I am”, for him who hath ascended such a throne, and beholdeth the Light of God above the Tabernacle (fustát), even as in
