Energy efficiency Energy use represents a significant amount of HP’s annual operating expense. Beginning in 2016, optimizing energy efficiency is the first phase of our GHG emissions reduction strategy. We will incorporate energy efficiency and resource conservation into our day- to-day operations and new construction guidelines to help drive progress. Our facility management suppliers will periodically review operational practices at our major sites and they will perform 2–4 audits annually using guidelines from ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
