exists in this detail and Spearhead did not include work at the tube steel in its bid. The revised detail, at right, added framing to the tube steel. The additional framing is extra work, not contract work. Spearhead believed both parties in agreement During this same walkthrough in January, after reviewing the contract drawing 5/A84-87 on my iPad, Spearhead and SWJV were in agreement that the 4 studs were part of its contract work and that the additional framing at the tube steel was extra work. I expressed that Spearhead did not have the capacity to take on additional work and could not commit to perform the extra work at this time. Spearhead believed the division of responsibilities had been resolved during this discussion as we proceeded with the walkthrough. Spearhead commenced work In planning its work and preparing to order materials for delivery, Spearhead discovered the revised sketch does not match the fabricated “fin-shaped” retail header currently installed on site. Specifically, the 4 studs shown on the revised sketch cannot be installed below the steel stiffeners as shown, due to the size of the stiffeners welded to the tube steel. Additionally, the underside of the steel stiffeners is sloped, not level as shown in the detail.
