Mr. Corallo,

We are in receipt of you letter, dated February 17, 2020.

During my site visit on February 20, 2020, I spoke with the Kone moving walkway installer. At the time, he was in the process of removing the temporary, plastic box encasings of the emergency stop button units at both ends of the walkway. I asked the extent of the damage to the temporary box and he explained that it had been pulled away from the glass but was still connected. He shared that replacing the temporary units with the permanent stainless-steel units, “had not been that difficult,” and that he had extras stored in his job box. Fortunately, it appears the long lead time concern was resolved within 3 business days. In the meantime, I spoke with our operator and reminded him to take extra care in raising and lowering the spider lift. The lack of protection afforded the protruding box under such crowded working conditions as well as a lack of cones or barricade visible to the operator also contributed to the “minor damage,” described in your letter. For these reasons, Spearhead accepts a portion of the responsibility for damage to the plastic, temporary unit but cannot accept full responsibility. Images follow.

Sincerely,
