REA Final - 22 Dec 20 - eBook - 1682 pages

Understand, if we put a control joint at the bottom between the GRC base and the GWB shaft enclosure, there won't be another joint until we get to the soffits.   We would put this centered in the soffits, to be within the 30' max CJ locations.  This was indicated in the email below, that it is going to look like a monolithic piece as discussed during the summer.   Lastly, I have re-attached the Plasterform shop detail for the soffit to capital.  We have been planning to tape/spackle this joint, but the last correspondence said we cannot.  Please advise.   Sean Reed Project Manager Spearhead Construction, LLC MBE | WBE | SDVOB | SDVOSB | PANYNJ | NYCSBS Sean @ SpearheadCx.com Ph: 631.793.7422

Let us know if any follow-up items. Thank you.

Please advise if there is a visible control joint between soffit to GFRG capital as shown in the attached picture.

There should be no visible joints between the GWB ceiling and the GFRG truss capital. The transition between the curved GFRG and the sloped GWB should be taped, spackled and finished to a level 5 finish. Control joints in the sloped GWB ceiling following the trusses should be placed in alignment with the control joints which are centered on the ACT tech zone panels, as shown on the A22 drawings.
