M u seum s, C o llections, Exh ib ition s. The National Museum is situated a t Frederiksholms K a­ uai in the Prinsens Palm, b uilt in 1744 by Eigtved. Christian VI and Frederik V lived there as erovvnprinces, bu t later the building was used as a free-lodging for higter officials and now ser­ ves as a frame for the large and valuable collections of the National Museum, which ought to be gone through ve­ ry thouroughlv by all to u ­ rists. The museum consists of ment to the older historical collections in the National Museum, and the object is to give a picture of the history of civilization in Denmark and former Danish countries before the year of 1660. The Museum contains interesting interiors from peasants and townsmens homes, household articles, furniture, textile- goods, domestic industry etc. Open 11—3. A special intere­ sting part, the Frilandsmu- seum is situated near Fugle- vad in the vicinity of Lyng- by. Open 1—6 from April 1st to October 15th.
