two gilt bronce-horses (copies of the horses on the church of S. Mark in Venice). On the corner of this building are four statues of draped wo­ men, representing Morning, Evening, Day and Night. In front of the Glyptothek, towards the Dantes Square, are two bronce lions by An­ toine Barye. In the niches on the front itself are placed busts f. i. of Constantin Meu- nier, Itodin, Falguifere and Carpeaux and a statue of Paul Dubois. In the garden around the Glyptothek are further placed a number of sculptures by French and Danish sculptors. For the study of the collec­ tions in Ny Carlsberg Glyp­ tothek the attention is called to the following catalogues:

The older building contains chiefly Danish and French sculptures, and the French collection is the most com­ plete outside France. The new building for the greater p a rt contains old Egyptian and Gredk-Itoman works of art. The Palmyra- collection is the most comple­ te collection of its kind in the world. The two buildings are connected by a glass-roo­ fed court, forming a, wonder­ ful conservatory in the sha­ pe of a dome, The front of the new p a rt towards the Glyp- tothek-Garden is finished by a frontispiece formed like a pyram id with stone-steps and on the top of which stands a golden statue of Pallas Athena, while on the two si­ des on the front are placed
