A walk on Langelinie on a sunny day will alway be an experience, remembered for a long time. Standing on the viaduct be­ hind the Gefion Fountain a splendid view on the harbour and the roads spreads out be­ fore ones eyes. Towards South is seen the other side of the harbour w ith the berth of the navy and the navy yard with the m ighty crane built by Frederik V, now used as a beacon and signal of storm warnings. W alking further North one passes to the left a monument with stone benches, erected to the princess Marie of Den­ mark (dead 1909) and then a rotunda with Huitfeldts Monument (see Chapter 9). E ast of this, on a bastion stands the characteristic mo­ nument to the battle on the roads 1801 (by Th. Bindes- boll). R ight off this monument, bu ilt out in the harbour, is the quarantine station w ith the yellow flag. The Langelinies Pavilion is facing the harbour and the
