Chamber Nomination & Election Information

Your Key Largo Chamber of Commerce successfully serves this community thanks to the dedication of our board of directors, past and present. As we approach a new year, the opportunity to join the board of directors is here. The Opportunity: • Serving as a Key Largo Chamber Board of Director is an exceptional opportunity to help foster the continued growth and development of a highly respected organization. While serving as a director requires both commitment and energy, it is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity and a great way to give something back to the community. Expectations: • Attend and contribute to 12 Board meetings a year. • Be able to give a two-year commitment as a director starting in December 2019. • Be willing to attend and be a meaningful participant in various Chamber functions and committee meetings throughout the year. • Support the Mission Statement of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce.

to vote for their choice of candidates. At the November Annual Meeting/Election, a vote by secret ballot is additionally taken. Both absentee ballots and the physical votes are counted, and the results are officially announced after the adjournment of the annual meeting. • The Chairman and Executive Committee are elected by the current and incoming Board of Directors during the first official meeting following the election. Eligibility: • To be eligible for nomination to the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors: • You must be a business membership (owner, general manager, or appointment by the owner/gm) in good standing with the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce. • Self-Nominations can be conducted at the October membership luncheon. The Nomination and Selection Process: • The Key Largo Chamber of Commerce holds elections for its Board of Directors in November of each year. • The nominating committee is tasked with selecting, vetting, and putting forth Board of Directors candidates for the upcoming board elections each year. • The nominating committee

presents a slate of nominees to the membership at the October luncheon, at which time self-nominations may be put forward. • Absentee ballots, with the nominees, are sent to members
