"Nutrition is the fundamental building block of an animal’s health and wellbeing. If you get that right, the health and productivity of the animal will generally be at an optimum. Brian Evans Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager FdSc Animal Science and Management It’s great to see students putting their knowledge into practice on our dairy unit. They analyse the physical characteristics of the feed against the ruminant health of the animals eating it. The science comes together for them - they’ll carry that forward into their careers."

Depending on your degree, you could take us up on the fantastic opportunity to visit Mankwe Wildlife Reserve in South Africa.* You’ll experience exciting safaris and conservational fieldwork, and gain insights into important conservation issues such as anti-poaching. This once-in-a-lifetime trip includes animal tracking, night-time game drives, and behavioural observations of many species on the plains of South Africa. Students also recently heard from anti-poaching rangers first-hand, learning about the methods they use to protect highly targeted wildlife species such as rhinos and elephants in the park.
