Station Instructions

Rotating Stations – Approximately 30 minutes each

Station: Psych Restraint Objectives: Properly assess and treat a combative psych patient, including restraint. Instructions: Read the scripted case and measure student performance against the skills sheets. Focus on SAMPLE, OPQRST, vitals and physical exam items, and debrief the students after each one. Precautions: DO NOT LECTURE – force your students to manage the patient with the information at hand and the equipment in front of them. Provide similar cases as students rotate

Station: Diabetic Objectives: Properly assess and treat a hypoglycemia patient. Instructions: Read the scripted case and measure student performance against the skills sheets. Focus on SAMPLE, OPQRST, vitals and physical exam items, and debrief the students after each one. Precautions: DO NOT LECTURE – force your students to manage the patient with the information at hand and the equipment in front of them. Provide similar cases as students rotate positions.
