The City’s economic development initiatives have a very strong international focus. This has led to the investment of over $50million of new Foreign Direct Investments in Murrieta’s commercial and healthcare projects. The City has created a unique partnership with the Murrieta Valley Unified School District and Tower Bridge International based in Beijing, with U.S. offices in Murrieta, Tacoma and Charlotte NC to welcome up to 100 Chinese high school students to Murrieta’s three high schools for a full academic year and over 300 on a part-year basis annually. The California headquarters offices for Tower Bridge International are located in Murrieta. This program generates at least $10million annually in new economic impact in Murrieta. The City regularly welcomes high level business and governmental delegations to Murrieta which have included visits to Murrieta from India, Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Chile, Finland, Hungary andmany other countries since the City recognizes that local economic development must have a global focus. The Murrieta City Council and the City administration recognize that economic development must be a high priority and that the City must foster the growth of a balanced and healthy economy. Community leaders understand that Murrieta will continue togrowdue to its locationmidwaybetween LosAngeles andSanDiegoon twomajor interstates. However, the City’s strategy is focusedonencouraging theplannedgrowthof thecommunity’s economic foundation, rather than just allowing any typeof growth to “happen” on its own.
