Basic considerations

There is no specific chemotherapy (or any specific medical treatment) for brain mets Most brain mets derive from chemo-resistant primary tumors The best chemotherapy for the primary tumor is also the best choice for brain metastases

Brain mets have (probably) no blood-brain barrier (BBB)

Drugs that cross the BBB may be helpful for the prevention of metastasis to the brain and/or for the treatment of „micrometastases“
