3.2.6 Findings The articles were grouped into two broad themes according to their focus. The first theme related to studies concerned with exploring nurse’s perceptions, opinions, beliefs and attitudes about their abilities and competencies when caring for and interacting with mental health clients. This theme included four papers. The second theme included six papers and related to the description and evaluation of mental health training (including alcohol abuse) and up-skilling workshops. Course content was assessed to measure any demonstrable benefit from the training intervention.
