CASE STUDY

GPS APACCOLLABORATION=WINFORHERBALIFE Global nutrition products company Herbalife opened a new 370,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China to service its Asia-Pacific customers. On behalf of Herbalife, the Global Portfolio Solutions Team worked with local industrial professionals in Shanghai to complete the complex build-to-suit transaction. Herbalife signed a 10-year lease and will utilize the facility to take pressure off its manufacturing operations in North America. The facility is located in the Jiangning Science Park, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, which is approximately 200 miles west of Shanghai. In addition to lease negotiations, the GPS Team also negotiated an incentive package with the Chinese government. By taking a comprehensive strategic approach, GPS was able deliver exactly what the client was looking for and was also able to achieve significant bottom line global cost savings for Hebalife in an area of the world that can be challenging to do business in.
