Join a small group in a closed-off room and be guided towards deeper connection with the painting. Seize the day: Art and mindfulness Saturday 19 November 2–4pm Location: Rm 18 Tutors: Karly Allen & Sue Bolton Tickets: £34/£32 conc./£28 Members The brevity of life and futility of wealth were popular themes in 17th-century Dutch painting. Join us for a session combining close-looking and basic mindfulness practice. Learn how mindfulness can help us seize the day and live a rewarding and purposeful life. Come with a sense of curiosity and fun to this relaxing, participative session.

Looking without talking Friday 16 September 6.30–7.30pm

Location: Rm 22 Admission free

This free event provides you with an opportunity to sit quietly in front of a Dutch painting, and see what happens when you become immersed in the world of a picture. With the galleries closed off and the lighting adjusted, we invite you to take a seat and look, undisturbed, at a single painting. Followed by a short discussion in the Creative Space.
